Embodied Resilience for Runners will raise funds for Girls on the Run Western Mass

This workshop offers adults and teens the tools to feel empowered in their bodies as they run and move through life. Drawing on the Alexander Technique and somatic practices, this trauma-informed, body-positive class helps runners develop a three-dimensional understanding of their bodies, release unnecessary tension, and discover more ease and freedom in their movement. Tracy will guide you through some functional anatomy and then a movement flow—at times subtle, at times energetic—designed to unwind excess tension, optimize your breathing and postural alignment, and prepare your body for running. Through gentle exploration and hands-on guidance, participants will learn practical tools to process physical challenges, prevent injury, and cultivate a joyful relationship with running.

Tracy Einstein, M.AmSAT, SEP is an Alexander Technique teacher and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner based in Northampton, MA. A lifelong mover who grew up dancing, playing soccer, and performing, Tracy completed 1600 hours of Alexander Technique teacher training in NYC, a 3-year Somatic Experiencing Training, and many other "somonaut" adventures. She has spent nearly a decade working with movers of all kinds—from dancers and actors to hypermobile folx and athletes recovering from injury. Tracy's trauma-informed, body-positive approach helps folks untangle holding patterns, prevent injury, and discover more ease and joy in movement.

In addition to her private practice, she currently teaches at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has guest taught at UMass Amherst, Smith College, and Barnard College. Tracy is passionate about creating accessible, responsive learning and healing environments that take into account the whole human and their context in order to meet people where they're at and support them to unwind blocks to performance, connection, and flow. She envisions a world where somatic practice supports people to come home to their body-mind-Self so they can live with vitality, wellness, and purpose. Learn more at www.tracyeinstein.com
