Meredith Bove
Shiatsu Practitioner
(she/her)
Meredith Bove is a dancer, artist, educator, and bodyworker trained in Zen Shiatsu in the lineage of Shizuto Masunaga, and certified through the AOBTA (American Association of Bodywork Therapies of Asia).
She received her shiatsu education and training at the Shiatsu School of Vermont, where her teachers included Marjorie Pivar, Sheyna Hoitsma, Michael DeAgro, Kumiko Kanayama, and Winter Jade Forest. In addition to her bodywork practice, Meredith has decades of training and experience in dance, performance, and somatic practice. Through this experience, she has come to deeply believe in the body/mind’s capacity for unique expression, ongoing change, and healing. She approaches sessions with clients from a place of deep listening and client-centered agency in their particular embodied experiences and goals.
When not practicing bodywork, Meredith creates performances, teaches dance and performance studies (most recently at UMass Amherst and as Visiting Artist in Dance at Mount Holyoke College), and works as Special Programs Coordinator for A.P.E. in Northampton, where where she collaborates with co-directors Kathy Couch and Mollye Maxner to steward a number of programs, including Making Ground: Dialogues and the newly formed Workroom Cooperative.
