The Y12SR Peer Support Guide Certification is a 36-hour immersive training designed to equip you with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to lead Yoga of 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR) meetings in your community.
This unique, trauma-informed program blends the ancient wisdom of yoga, the structure of 12-step recovery, and the latest insights from neuroscience and healing-centered engagement. Whether you’re seeking to deepen your own recovery journey or integrate Y12SR into the work you already do, as a yoga teacher, therapist, peer support specialist, or community leader, this training offers a path to meaningful, embodied service.

Simulated Y12SR Meetings – Practice leading discussions, holding space, and applying trauma-informed facilitation techniques.

Facilitator Bio:
Amy Newland, E-RYT 500, is a dedicated yoga teacher, Y12SR Certified Peer Support Guide and facilitator, and Y12SR COI Coordinator with more than 20 years of experience leading group exercise classes. In addition to her work in movement and recovery spaces, Amy is also a Registered Nurse, bringing a compassionate and holistic approach to supporting the well-being of others.
Amy has been active in 12-Step recovery since 1996 and is a grateful member of multiple fellowships. Her personal recovery journey deeply informs her work and her commitment to service. In 2017, Amy discovered Yoga of 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR) and has been both participating in and leading Y12SR meetings ver since.
Today, Amy brings Y12SR meetings to her community through a local yoga studio, addiction and recovery centers, and programs within a mental health facility. Through her teaching and service, she creates supportive spaces where movement, mindfulness, and recovery principles come together to foster healing, connection, and hope.
