An Evening of Sacred Songs (In-Studio)

  • Sanctuary 150 Main Street Northampton, MA, 01060 United States (map)

with Derek Pashupa Goodwin & the Bhakti Barnacle Band

Join the Bhakti Barnacle Band for an evening of mantras, call-and-response Kirtans, and sacred music from spiritual traditions around the world. The event will feature songs out of Derek’s “Sacred Songs, Mantras & Music” chant book, including mantras and lyrics for you to join in with.  The Barnacles will share stories that invite you deeper into the meanings of the songs. We encourage you to bring shakers and rattles, and to dance if you feel inspired.

Derek ‘Pashupa’ Goodwin is a Jivamukti Yoga teacher with over a decade of experience chanting Sanskrit mantras in his classes. He can often be found at social gatherings leading sing-a-longs with his ukulele. His musical talents include ukulele, guitar, banjo, and harmonium. Derek will be joined by his Barnacle bandmates Miranda Bushey and Ada Solomon, who add harmonies with their beautiful voices, stringed instruments, and rhythms.

Friday, July 21st, 7-9 PM (in-studio)
