Randee Paufve

Randee Paufve is a choreographer, dancer, teacher, and Artistic Director of Paufve Dance, a San Francisco Bay Area based contemporary dance company. A 2019 Fulbright Scholar and recipient of the Isadora Duncan Dance Award for Outstanding Individual Performance, she has been featured on NPR’s All Things Considered and honored with the inaugural Della Davidson Prize for Innovations in Dance-Theater. Her work has been presented across the USA, and internationally in India, Austria, and Portugal.
Working at the intersection of geography and the body, Paufve draws landscapes in and back out again, treating place as collaborator. The resulting dances are finely crafted, fiercely felt, and deeply human, wrestling with womanhood, community, resilience, and the right to choose.
Her dances make room for both rigorous choreography and everyday bodies, where emotion pushes against form and movement becomes a way of knowing. At heart, the work is driven by joy, accessibility, and hope: to move, together, in this body, in this moment, with these people.
