M.J. began practicing yoga and meditation at 12 years of age, after finding a Swami Satchidananda LP in a box of her mom’s old records. They were immediately hooked and developed a practice that continues to grow and evolve to this day.

M.J.s professional trajectory into holistic modalities began in 2001, when they attended their first birth as a doula for a friend. From that point on, they trained and worked as a doula, childbirth educator, and Arizona Licensed Midwife until 2013, when they moved to Massachusetts.

After a health crisis, M.J. realized that returning to work with long and unpredictable hours would not be in the best interest of their health. After a lot of soul-searching, M.J. decided to return to school in midlife. She attended Holyoke Community College, then moved to Smith College as an Ada Comstock scholar, and graduated with a B.A. in psychology in 2024. During her time at Smith, M.J. developed a passion for research in the field of perfectionism, which she credits to her academic advisor, Dr. Patricia DiBartolo, who is a leading researcher in the field.

Since graduating from Smith, M.J. has been building a practice that centers around helping recovering perfectionists come home to their inherent worthiness. M.J. uses a blend of coaching, Intuitive Eating, mindfulness, and yoga that is tailored for each client’s individual needs. More than anything, M.J. believes that every human being is intrinsically valuable, separate from their output, appearance, or “usefulness,” and that every human being is deserving of support as they heal from societal messaging that has told them otherwise.
