Jessi Lawrence

Psychotherapist

(they/them/theirs)

Jessi Lawrence is a non-binary & queer psychotherapist specializing in group psychotherapy, working with trans, queer, and neurodivergent people of all ages, and people practicing non-traditional relationship configurations. Jessi views psychotherapy as a kind of alchemy, and believes that tending to ourselves as relational beings is a crucial path to not just personal healing, but collective liberation.

Jessi grounds their psychotherapy practice in a systems perspective, with a deep dedication to working with abolitionist values. They hold the tension between the carceral roots of social work and the transformational potential of psychotherapy with utmost care. They’ve worked in settings including a community-based program that aims to minimize institutionalization for adults at risk, a partial hospitalization program for first responders and healthcare workers experiencing crisis, and in-home therapy for families with children experiencing significant behavioral challenges. Working in higher levels of care ensured Jessi developed a robust understanding of the mental health systems their clients are a part of to minimize perpetuating harm by these systems. They are so grateful to be able to do this work to help create paths to more loving ways of being in the world.
