Hitchcock Center

Community Spotlight: October 2026

Who They Are

The mission of the Hitchcock Center for the Environment is to educate and inspire action for a healthy planet. The Center develops hopeful, creative problem-solvers who can take on the challenges of climate change by helping them reconnect to and learn from nature’s efficient systems and develop a problem-solving mindset. It provides opportunities for people of all ages to develop a relationship with nature; lead sustainable engineering and design challenges for youth; teach communication, organization and leadership skills to teens; and convene adults for discourse and civic engagement around climate change and sustainability.

Their Story

We spoke with Kim Snyder (she/her), Director of Development and Communications at the Hitchcock Center about what they’ve been up to, how they envision their work making greater impact, and the best ways for folks to get involved…

Benefit Class

On October 30th, 2026, Sanctuary will host a benefit restorative yoga class—led by Beth Tascione — with lots of nature based themes and opportunities for deeper connection with each other and the precious land we inhabit. 100% of the proceeds raised from this class will be donated to the Hitchcock Center in support of their work in the community.
