Financial Accessibility

Cost should not be a barrier to your health and wellbeing. We are here to help!

It Takes A Village

Too often, yoga and the healing arts are marketed as boutique health services. Barriers such as socioeconomic constraint and social prejudice perpetuate a homogenous culture and reinforce social inequity. Accessibility to health and well-being is a basic human right.

Though our studio functions as a small business, we are, at our core, a service organization. We envision a diversity of bodies and lived experiences practicing alongside each other in our studio. In order to move toward this vision, we

  • have a pricing structure that includes tiered and sliding-scale options,

  • offer donation-based programming that starts as low as $5,

  • channel 100% of profits toward a range of scholarships for all of our programming and membership options, and

  • facilitate a work exchange program.

Though we serve as many individuals as we can with these services, we can’t sustain this business model on our own. We need the entire community to participate. Our teachers, practitioners, and educators contribute by sharing part of the cost to make offerings financially accessible. We also have many generous students who participate by purchasing Supporter-level monthly memberships, or passes at the top end of our sliding-scale. If it is within your means to participate in this way, or to donate to our Scholarship Fund, please know that your contributions are put to use each and every day to support your fellow community members.

Scholarships

Sanctuary offers scholarships for classes, workshops, series, and educational programming to students who have a strong motivation to participate in these offerings but find our prices prohibitive. We can do this this because we channel 100% of our profits towards this work! Please fill out the form below to request a scholarship. We look forward to connecting with you.

Yoga Exchange

Our intention is to support an inclusive yoga community that allows the teachings, practices, and benefits of yoga to be accessible to everyone, especially low-income students and students who identify as LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC.

Members of the Yoga Exchange Team work at the studio in exchange for free yoga classes. Members typically volunteer for 2 hours/week at the studio, offering front desk and technical support. We ask that students commit to a minimum of 6 months of weekly shifts. Ideally, Yoga Exchange Team members will have done our New Member Offer and taken classes with a variety of teachers, and will know they want to be a part of the Sanctuary community. If the New Member Offer is a financial barrier for you, we will work with you to meet your needs.
