Harry Potter Yoga

During challenging times, it is tempting to withdraw into ourselves, avoiding conflict by denying what is happening in the world around us. The great Albus Dumbledore, along with his friends and colleagues, taught us to instead stand up and speak out about injustice, using our words and actions to embrace diversity and civility. Come to Harry Potter Yoga to cultivate courage and practice skillful responses to difficult situations. We’ll move through a strong standing sequence, inspired by our own strength and creativity and the support of our community. Treats straight from the kitchens of Hogwarts (prepared only by free elves, of course!) will be offered after class.

(Yoga friendly) costumes encouraged!

Muggles 14 years and older with some yoga experience are welcome.

About Amy: 

Amy discovered yoga in 1999, expanded her practice in 2008, and completed her 200 hour RYT training in 2014 with Sara Rose Page at Yoga Sanctuary in Northampton, MA. She has studied Iyengar, Vinyasa, and Kripalu yoga, but feels a particular resonance with the Anusara tradition and Tantric Rajanaka yoga philosophy as taught by Dr. Douglas Brooks. She views all domains of life as an opportunity to practice yoga. Among these are her roles as a mother of two children, a wife, a psychologist, a breast cancer survivor, and a lover of the outdoors. Her teaching style emphasizes safe alignment, accessibility, yoga philosophy, compassion, and humor.
