Andrew Rivin (certified Anusara Teacher)
"I started my exploration with yoga in 1989 when I moved to Berkeley from Cambridge. At the time I figured it was the California thing to do, and turning 30 that year, I also decided that it was something that my body sorely needed. As a football player, a pole-vaulter, a skier, a biker and a runner, I have been physically active my entire life. Mostly I was very skilled at torturing my body in hard, physical training. I had a "no pain, no gain" attitude to all things athletic. Practicing yoga was a life altering shift in perspective and it took me many years to fully commit myself to a softer, more open and reflective posture. It's one that I'm still learning.

My Style of teaching is light, fun and I hope uplifting. I still have a bit of the coach in me and I must've heard too many cheerleaders over the years, because that's there too. Come prepared to push to your edge, wherever that might be, in a safe, supportive and connected community of like minded yogis."
